Over the years, I have designed many annual and sustainability reports. This used to be a considerable focus of my yearly business, but times and the corporate reporting landscape have changed and I’m now doing less of this kind of work.
This year, however, I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Sunshine Coast Credit Union to produce an online interactive annual report, a printed mailer, plus Financial and Governance reports.
To see some of my older annual report work, go to the Annual Report Archives tab.

My collaborations with Canadian Mental Health Association – Calgary have been enjoyable and rewarding. The expansive list of projects has included branding for Recovery College and developing workbooks, course guides and facilitator/participant materials for various mental health related courses and initiatives.

Christina River Enterprises (now Fort McMurray First Nation Group of Companies) hosts an annual golf day for clients and partners. The 2020 Hawaiian-themed project included a die-cut printed invitation and sponsorship package. Regrettably, because of the pandemic, this event had to be cancelled. Too bad – there was some talk of me playing my ukulele at the party!

Christina River Enterprise’s brochure is a gate-fold with an inside panel that folds up.

Chicago-based Univar engaged me to design and develop artwork for a number of their projects, including trade show booths, external and internal signage for one of their plants, one sheets, brochures, ads, product formulation guides, etc.
In the time I worked with them, they went through a merger and rebranding to become Univar Solutions, the global specialty chemical, ingredient, and solutions provider. This is a 20’x20’ trade show booth I developed for the health ingredients market.

Formulation guides for the Beauty and Nutrition ingredients markets.

Mountain View Connection classical chamber music concerts feature local vocalists and musicians in richly themed and dynamic programs.
These are a few of the covers I created for their concert programs.

In addition to graphic design, I’m also a classically-trained and semi-professional orchestral musician. Straddling both artistic endeavours has led me to designing/producing promotional materials for a number of concert-giving organizations.
This is a season brochure and concert ads that I produced for the Calgary Civic Symphony, where I was graphic designer for over 15 years (and principal flute for over 27 years). This season’s design featured bright solid colours, lyrical typography and sketches that had been done by regular Civic Symphony concert attendee and artist, Barbara Hirst.
